Godolphin trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni to face disciplinary panel

Ten of Mahmood Al Zarooni's 45 racehorses reportedly test positive for anabolic steroids.

The British Horseracing Authority have confirmed that Mahmood Al Zarooni will go before a disciplinary panel in the near future.

The governing body made the announcement after "serious irregularities" had been found in samples taken from horses in his care in Newmarket.

It has been reported that 10 of the Goldolphin trainer's 45 horses have tested positive for anabolic steroids.

"I deeply regret what has happened. I have made a catastrophic error," Al Zarooni told Goldolphin's official website.

Al Zarooni won the Ladbrokes St Leger at Doncaster last year with Encke.
