Former jockey Walter Swinburn, a three-time Derby winner and the rider of Shergar, has died at the age of 55.
Nicknamed the Choirboy, Swinburn retired from racing in 2000 before becoming a trainer and sending out over 260 winners from his yard.
Swinburn was just 19 when he won the Derby on the world famous Shergar in 1981, as well as triumphing with Shahrastani in 1986 and Lammtarra nine years later.
The Oxford-born jockey, who also claimed memorable victories in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Oaks, 2,000 Guineas and 1,000 Guineas, is said to have passed away peacefully at home.
