Blake Green taking time over new Wigan Warriors deal

Wigan Warriors half-back Blake Green claims that he is in no rush to sign a contract extension with the Super League champions.

Wigan Warriors half-back Blake Green has revealed that he is in no rush to sign a new deal with the club.

The 27-year-old Australian, who arrived at the DW Stadium at the start of last season, is out of contract this summer.

Despite holding talks with Wigan coach Shaun Wane over his future, Green is yet to pen fresh terms with the Super League champions.

"I haven't signed a deal yet," he told League Express. "I'm currently talking to [Shaun Wane] at Wigan to sort something out, but at the moment I haven't signed anything, although I've really enjoyed my two years so far at Wigan.

"I wouldn't say I am close to signing. We only started talking last week. It will take care of itself, and I haven't put much emphasis on it."

Wigan continue their Super League campaign on Saturday at home to Leeds Rhinos.
