Bath got their Aviva Premiership campaign off to a winning start with a 22-9 win at Newcastle Falcons.
The visitors took the lead after seven minutes when Matt Carraro touched down, with Sam Vesty converting.
Vesty was in a confident mood with the boot as he kicked Bath into a 13-9 half-time lead. Jimmy Gopperth scored three penalties for the Falcons.
The hosts showed indiscipline after the restart and Vesty capitalised, kicking the remainder of the away side's points.
Newcastle travel to Exeter next weekend, while Bath face Saracens at the Rec.
