French coach Marc Lievremont wants to wake up on Monday morning with a hangover following tomorrow's world cup final.

Marc Lievremont has said that his final wish before he stands down as the French coach is to wake up with a hangover following Sunday's World Cup final against New Zealand.

His side go into the game as underdogs and a victory against the hosts would upset the odds.

"I am relaxed, I'm focused [but I want] to wake up with a hangover," said the 42-year-old.

Sunday's final will be the Senegalese-born coach's final game in charge before he is replaced by Philippe Saint-Andre after the tournament.

"Now I hand everything over to the captain and the players. It really is all down to them," added Lievremont.

"All the moments this week have been [their] last moments with me - the last moments with staff, training with players - and this is the last press conference."

This year's final is a repeat of the inaugural 1987 World Cup final which New Zealand won.
