British swimmer Fran Halsall missed out on a medal after finishing joint fourth in the 100m freestyle race at the Shanghai World Championships.
The Loughborough ITC swimmer completed the race alongside Femke Heemskerk in 53.72 seconds despite qualifying in the semi-finals on Thursday in the fastest time recorded.
"I'm disappointed. It's only to be expected really," Sky Sports quotes Halsall as saying.
"I thought I had more in me from last night but after the first 50 I felt really groggy coming back so it just wasn't there.
"I can't change the result now, I've just got to take it as motivation for next year."
Denmark’s Jeanette Ottesen and Belarus-born Aliaksandra Herasimenia came in joint-first position in 53.45 seconds.
