British swimmer Rebecca Adlington has called on her fellow Team GB athletes to take their chance and grab a podium spot at London 2012.
The 23-year-old, who won two golds at the Beijing Games in 2008, is a strong favourite to claim a medal at this summer's Olympics.
"It is going be so different and something that you can't fully prepare for," Adlington told BBC Sport. "It's exciting and new and just one of those things that you have to take in your stride.
"I know it sounds like a song, but this is our one shot to compete at a home Olympics. I just think it's going to be amazing."
Meanwhile, the British swimmers will not be attending the opening ceremony, which gets underway this evening at 9pm.
