Great Britain's Liam Tancock has booked a place in the men's 100m backstroke semi-final at London 2012.
The 27-year-old finished second in his heat behind world champion Camille Lacourt, but his time of 53.86 was enough to ensure progression.
Matthew Grevers of the United States recorded the fastest time during the heats, finishing in 52.92. He will be joined by compatriot Nick Thoman.
Unseeded Brit Chris Walker-Hebborn came third in his heat, but his time of 54.78 was not enough to secure a place in the last 16.
The men's 100m backstroke semi-final takes place at 8.28pm this evening.
