Great Britain's world number one in the under-80kg Taekwondo division Aaron Cook to take legal action after his non-selection for the Olympics.

Great Britain's world number one in the under-80kg division Aaron Cook has blasted GB Taekwondo following his non-selection for the Olympic squad.

Cook has been omitted from the squad in favour of Lutalo Muhammad, who has stepped down from the under-87kg class.

Speaking on Wednesday, he told reporters: "It has been the hardest couple of weeks of my life. I have had to try and keep the training up and in my mind I am still competing at the Olympics.

"I feel like I am being cheated. I am not very happy. We have got to fight for what is right. I feel I should be at the Olympic Games and we have to fight for that."

However, GB Taekwando have revealed that its objective is "to nominate athletes who will provide the Great Britain team with the best chance of medal success at London 2012".

Meanwhile, Cook's agent Jamie Cunningham stated: "We should be ashamed in this country that we have a world number one that is not going to the Olympics."

Cook is preparing to take the British Olympic Association to the high court in London. Cook's lawyers will reportedly send the BOA a pre-action letter within the next 24 hours.
