Milos Raonic has reached the last four of the ATP World Tour Finals with a straight-sets win over Dominic Thiem at the O2 in London.
The Canadian dominated lengthy spells of the match, but did not have things all his own way, with his opponent taking him to tie-break in the first set.
Thiem matched Raonic for much of the opener only to come undone in the breaker, with Canada's top-ranked player battering down an ace to win it 7-5.
The Austrian's serve then faltered in the first game of the second set, and it proved decisive as neither competitor managed to land another break until the death.
With Thiem serving to stay in the match, he sent a weak forehand into the net to hand Raonic the second set 6-3.
Fourth seed Raonic will take on either Andy Murray, Stanislas Wawrinka or Kei Nishikori in the semi-finals.
