Great Britain have progressed through to the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup after Andy Murray beat Sam Querrey in four sets.
The opening two sets were shared, but Murray eventually won 7-6 6-7 6-1 6-3 in San Diego to give Britain an unassailable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five tie.
It is the first time in 79 years that Great Britain have defeated the United States.
Leon Smith's side will now travel to Italy in April for the quarter-finals, with the winners to play either Switzerland or Kazakhstan for a place in the final.
