Grigor Dimitrov edged a deciding set tie-break against Kevin Anderson in the final to claim the Mexican Open title in Acapulco.

Anderson recovered from a set down, but the Bulgarian kept his composure throughout a nervy finale to the contest to seal victory in just over three hours of play.

Nothing could separate the pair in what proved a 12-game first-set which Dimitrov eventually won courtesy of a 7-1 tie-break triumph.

However, Anderson, who beat top seed David Ferrer in the quarter-finals, hit back by inflicting a break of serve early in the second set en route to a 6-3 victory.

The duo went all the way in the third and final set once again. A 13th ace of the game for Anderson opened up a 4-2 tie-break lead, but the 22-year-old fought back for a 7-5 win to clinch the title.
