Kyle Edmund reaches Rome Challenger final

British number three Kyle Edmund is through to the final of the Rome Challenger with a straight-sets win over Filippo Volandri.

Kyle Edmund has reached his third Challenger final of 2016 with a comfortable win over Filippo Volandri in Rome.

The British number three has recently reached the last 16 of clay-court ATP Tour events in Bucharest and Estoril but he has reverted back to the second-tier circuit this week in order to gain extra court time ahead of Roland Garros.

It is a move that has paid off for the 21-year-old after he completed a 6-1 6-4 triumph over veteran Italian Volandri, who has reached nine ATP finals on the dirt.

Edmund broke the 34-year-old's serve on four occasions and he now progresses through to the final where he will play Filip Krajinovic, who beat top seed Jiri Vesely.

British number four Dan Evans - who joined Edmund in the world's top 100 at the start of the week - competes in the semi-finals of the Busan Challenger on Saturday against John Millman, who handed out a double bagel to Liam Broady in the last eight.
