Richard Gasquet has eased into the quarter-finals of the Rogers Cup thanks to a comfortable straight-sets victory over fourth seed Tomas Berdych.
The 14th seed broke his Czech opponent's serve twice in the opening set on his way to a 6-4 triumph.
It was more routine in the second as the Frenchman closed out the match 6-2 to advance into the last eight.
Gasquet will now meet either Juan Monaco or Mardy Fish for a place in the semi-finals.
