Heather Sellars feeling the pressure as sole Team GB triathlete at Baku 2015

Great Britain triathlete Heather Sellars admits that she feels "a bit of pressure" to succeed at the European Games.

Heather Sellars has admitted that she is feeling the pressure ahead of this weekend's triathlon event at the European Games in Baku.

The 24-year-old will be the only Great Britain competitor taking part due to the recent withdrawal of Heather Jenkins, whose troublesome ankle has seen her miss much of the last two years.

Sellars will also be the first Team GB member in action at the Games, which she admits brings some added pressure.

"It is the first race at the Games and I'll be the first in the GB team to race, so I do feel a bit of pressure," she told the Games News Service. "Hopefully that will make me perform better.

"It is a bit sad that I am the only one on the team now, but hopefully Helen will be back racing soon. I want to make sure I have a good swim here.

"As long as I have a good swim I should be up there. A top 10 finish would be a really good result for me, so I hope to come out of the water in the lead pack."

Former European champions Sellars is no stranger to tough challenges, having swum across the English Channel at the age of just 18.
