Hanna Edwards has insisted that finishing inside the top 10 at Baku 2015 will be a "huge achievement" for Team GB.
The 17-year-old will compete in the water polo event at the inaugural games, which officially gets underway later today.
Prior to this evening's showpiece ceremony, Edwards will line up against Greece in the opening group game as Great Britain aim to secure a top-three spot that will grant them progression into the knockout stages.
However, the Dundee native believes that expectations must be kept in perspective for the under-17 level tournament.
"To finish in the top 10 would be a huge achievement for us," she told Sportsbeat. "We have never been to a Games like this before and anything better would be amazing, but considering you have the bigger teams like Hungary and Greece, to finish in the top ten would be a huge achievement.
"Everyone is so close and we all work hard together and we have been working hard for this. Everyone has been training well and we all get along together. We are like a family that way.
"There is no squabbling and that shows in the pool. If we are losing we always try to work hard together."
After taking on Greece, Britain play further group games against the Netherlands, Hungary, Germany and Israel.
