Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer "disappointed" with Sochi display

Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria says that he is "really disappointed" with his performance in the normal hill skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

Austria's Gregor Schlierenzauer has admitted his disappointment at missing out on a podium finish in the men's normal hill individual ski jumping event in Sochi on Sunday.

The 24-year-old, who won the bronze medal at the Vancouver Games four years ago, could only finish 11th at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

"I'm really disappointed because the whole year I was talking about the Olympic Games and I couldn't get the best possible result," The AP quotes him as saying.

"The technique wasn't very good and my form was not stable for the whole season."

Schlierenzauer has won two bronze medals at the Olympics, but has yet to clinch gold.
