Team GB athlete Amanda Lightfoot has admitted that she was disappointed in her Olympic debut performance, but hopes to come back stronger in four years' time.
The biathlete finished 71st in the women's 15km individual event on Friday, having clocked a time of 54:38.1.
She missed five targets in the shooting range in an error-strewn display, but Lightfoot is sure that she will benefit from her Sochi experience if she competes at Pyeongchang 2018.
"It didn't go to plan. It is my first Olympics so it is a learning curve for me but I am a bit disappointed," she told reporters.
"I think I made the wrong ski selection and that was the reason for being so slow up the hills. And also my head wasn't very good in the range, I haven't been that confident in my shooting.
"I need to get that back together but this makes me more determined to come back in four years time for sure."
The event was won by Belarusian athlete Darya Domracheva, who claimed her second gold medal of the 2014 Winter Games after victory in the women's pursuit earlier this week.
