American snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington has said that she "felt confident" on her way to gold in the women's half-pipe earlier today.
The United States competitor, who is making her debut at the Olympics, scored 91.75 on her second run, narrowly beating defending champion Torah Bright of Australia.
The 24-year-old told BBC Sport: "I had the run that I wanted to do and the first run I landed it and needed to be clean in the second.
"I think I got the nerves out during qualifiers, I was so nervous then. I felt confident going into the final."
Pre-tournament favourite Kelly Clark, also from the USA, completed the podium.
