The American hockey team are looking to adopt stray dogs at the Winter Olympics in Sochi after skier Gus Kenworthy made headlines for saving a group of puppies.

The USA's Kenworthy has delayed his journey home from Sochi to complete all the paperwork needed to take the puppies with him.

This prompted David Backes to tweet Kenworthy asking where he and his hockey team could adopt some dogs of their own.

Russia had reportedly contracted the killing of the dogs before and during the Games.
