Wrestling has been reinstated as an Olympic sport for the 2020 Games.
Members of the International Olympic Committee made the decision earlier today in Buenos Aires during a secret electronic ballot.
The combative sport was dropped from the schedule in February in the wake of the 2012 Olympics in London, but its governing body appealed to be included again alongside squash and baseball/softball.
After the results had been counted, it was revealed this afternoon that wrestling had received 48 votes, ahead of baseball/softball with 24 and squash on 22.
It will now return in Tokyo after the Japanese city won the rights to host the event yesterday evening.
