Vertonghen: 'Belgium team has everything'
Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen says that the current crop of international players is "the best" that he has played with.

Belgium defender Jan Vertonghen has said that the current crop of international players is "the best" that he has played with.

The Red Devils began their World Cup campaign in impressive fashion on Monday evening, defeating Panama 3-0 after a brace from Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.

Belgium, who go into their game against Tunisia top of Group G on goal difference, meet England in their final game before the knockout stages begin.

"I think this is the best Belgium team I've played in," Vertonghen told the Evening Standard. "We're a complete team. We've got everything — pace, technique, mentality, experience. I think this is the best now. Starting slowly and getting better is the ideal situation.

"We've been working together for two years towards this game [against Panama]. We've been training for four weeks to this game. There's always going to be stress but I think we coped well.

"We've started with a win and a clean sheet. We've got Tunisia next and we've got to secure our last 16 place in that game."

Vertonghen has made 103 appearances for his national team, scoring three goals.
