Trio to miss Celtic's trip to Borussia Monchengladbach

Celtic trio Kolo Toure, Jozo Simunovic and Leigh Griffiths will all miss the club's trip to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has been ruled out of his side's trip to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions League.

Griffiths has failed to score in his last eight games for club and country, but the absence of the Scottish international through illness is a big blow to Brendan Rodgers's side.

The Bhoys will also be without Kolo Toure and Jozo Simunovic for a game in which they need to secure a positive result in order to prolong their hopes of competing in Europe after Christmas.

Toure has not featured since being at fault for both of Monchengladbach's goals in Glasgow earlier this month but Simunovic had helped Celtic to six successive wins when he had featured in the team.

Both players will work on their fitness ahead of a potential return at the weekend.
