Alexandre Pato wants permanent Chelsea stay

Alexandre Pato outlines his desire to stay with Chelsea once his loan deal expires this summer.

Alexandre Pato has outlined his desire to join Chelsea permanently this summer once his loan deal expires.

The Brazilian forward has featured just twice since joining the Blues on loan from Corinthians in the summer window, having taken more than two months to break into the first-team picture due to a lack of fitness.

Pato scored on his debut against relegated Aston Villa a fortnight ago but has called upon interim manager Guus Hiddink to give him more game time in the final matches of the season to demonstrate his worth.

"In every training session I was visualising what it would be like in a match. I never gave up and always wanted to train more," he told ESPN Brasil.

"When Guus [Hiddink] gave me the chance to play I was very happy. Scoring that goal was a weight off my shoulders.

"I know that I still need more games to show my value. I feel that my body and mind are strong. My aim is to stay here in Europe and continue at Chelsea."

After starting in Chelsea's 1-0 loss at Swansea City last weekend, Pato was dropped to the bench for tonight's game with Manchester City.
