Everton defender Yerry Mina will reportedly leave the Merseyside club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Yerry Mina is reportedly expected to leave Everton on a free transfer this summer.

The centre-back has rarely featured for the Toffees this season, appearing in just five games across all competitions.

Injury restricted Mina to just one appearance prior to the World Cup break, and he has had to watch on from the bench for the majority of 2023.

After remaining patient, Mina was presented with his first start since January in Monday's commanding 5-1 away win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

The defender could now have an important role to play in Everton's final three games of the campaign, as they look to retain their top-flight status.

Despite returning to the first-team fold, his time at Goodison Park appears to be coming to an end, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.

According to journalist Pipe Sierra, Everton have decided against extending Mina's £120,000-a-week deal.

As a result, the Colombia international will leave the Merseyside club on a free transfer when his contract expires in June.

The report claims that Mina is already listening to offers from prospective clubs, and he is keen to remain in European football.

Since joining Everton from Barcelona in 2018, Mina has made 96 competitive appearances, chipping in with eight goals and one assist.

Mina will be hoping to keep his place in the starting lineup when Sean Dyche's side welcome title-chasing Manchester City to Goodison Park on Saturday.

Everton moved out of the drop zone courtesy of Monday's 5-1 victory, but they remain at risk of being relegated for the first time in the Premier League era.

With three games remaining, the Toffees are sitting in 17th position and are just two points clear of the bottom three.
