Liverpool 'could play Sao Paulo friendly for Rogerio Ceni's testimonial'

Liverpool could reportedly take part in a friendly against Sao Paulo in January for Brazilian goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni's testimonial.

Liverpool are reportedly in line to take part in a January friendly against Sao Paulo for Brazilian goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni's testimonial.

Sao Paulo are believed to be organising the match to honour Ceni, who captained the side to a 1-0 win over Liverpool in the 2005 Club World Cup final in Japan.

According to Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo, should Liverpool decline the event, the club will turn to AC Milan.

Ceni, who scored 120 goals during 22 years playing for Sao Paulo, announced his retirement from the game back in April.

In January, Liverpool have Premier League matches against Leicester City, Sunderland, Aston Villa and West Ham.
