Manuel Pellegrini backs Joe Hart after mistake

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini backs goalkeeper Joe Hart after the England international's mistake in their 2-1 win against Norwich City.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has backed his goalkeeper Joe Hart after his mistake almost cost the Premier League leaders the three points against Norwich City.

The England international dropped a cross that led to Cameron Jerome's goal but a Yaya Toure penalty saved his blushes as City finished 2-1 winners at the Etihad Stadium.

Pellegrini told reporters: "It was unfortunate, sometimes these things happen. Joe is human and he can make mistakes.

"Apart from that error, there were only two shots at him in the game and he saved those because he is a very good goalkeeper. We played against a difficult team that played very well."

The win keeps Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table on goal difference.
