Manchester United injury, suspension list vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Thursday's Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Thursday when they square off against rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Away from top-flight action, United have had mixed success, succumbing tamely to Sevilla in the Europa League before edging out Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties in the FA Cup semi-finals three days later.

Erik ten Hag's side now switch their attention to the Premier League where they sit six points clear of their next opponents in the race for the Champions League.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Spurs, who lost 6-1 at fellow Champions League-chasers Newcastle United at the weekend.

Having sustained an ankle injury versus Brighton, Fernandes was pictured in a protective boot. Ten Hag acknowledged that the affected area "has to settle down", making the Portuguese a huge doubt for the upcoming game.

Teenage starlet Alejandro Garnacho is still some way away from recovering from an ankle injury, and Man United will reportedly block the Argentina youth international from representing his country at the upcoming Under-20s World Cup next month.

Raphael Varane

Possible return date: Unknown

Raphael Varane was another casualty of that 2-2 draw at Old Trafford - exacerbating a previous ankle problem - and Man United will have to cope without the World Cup winner for a number of weeks.

Scott McTominay

Scott McTominay's knock has now kept him out of Man United's last four matches in all tournaments, and it remains unclear whether he will come back into contention for this fixture.

With Harry Maguire having served a one-match ban in the FA Cup, the defender will return to the squad for this contest, and United have no other players who are serving a suspension.
