Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani will again be absent for Sunday's Premier League clash with Leeds United.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Edinson Cavani will again be absent for Sunday's Premier League clash with Leeds United.

The Uruguay international has been pictured back in training after missing his side's last two Premier League matches against Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion through injury.

As a result, the experienced striker was expected to be back in the squad against Leeds at Elland Road.

However, speaking during Friday's pre-match press conference, Rangnick revealed that the 35-year-old will again be absent, having also picked up a stomach issue.

"Well, as it seems, Edinson Cavani will still be out. He is still having some problems with his groin and, on the other hand, also some with his stomach," Rangnick told reporters.

Cavani, who has scored twice and registered one assist in 15 appearances at club level this season, only has a contract at Old Trafford until the end of June and is set to leave on a free transfer.

The South American is allegedly keen to complete a move to a La Liga club ahead of next season.
