Udinese secure a place in next season's Europa League with a 5-2 win over Inter Milan.

Udinese have secured a place in next season's Europa League with a 5-2 win over Inter Milan in Serie A this evening.

In an open first half, it was Francesco Guidolin's side who started the scoring with just one minute on the clock when Giampiero Pinzi slotted Abel Hernandez's pass home from 12 yards out.

The away side doubled their lead nine minutes later thanks to Maurizio Domizzi's close-range header.

Inter quickly reduced the deficit when Juan Jesus hit a left-footed shot into the bottom corner of the net after a corner from Fredy Guarin.

However, Udinese restored their two-goal advantage five minutes before the break through Antonio Di Natale, when he hit a low shot across Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic into the far corner of the net.

Inter pushed forward in search of goals early in the second half, but they were caught out on the break when Gabriel Silva collected Luis Muriel's pass and fired home to make the score 4-1 to the visitors.

The hosts made it 4-2 on 63 minutes when Tommaso Rocchi converted Rodrigo Palacio's cross from 12 yards out.

However, three minutes later Muriel's shot from the centre of the penalty area made the game safe for Udinese, who take the final European qualification place in Serie A.

The defeat sees Inter finish ninth in the table.
