Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta is hopeful that he will be able to return to the NFL in the 2015 season.
The 29-year-old has dislocated his hip twice in the last two seasons, which has limited him to just seven matches for John Harbaugh's men.
However, Pitta is optimistic that he is making progress in his recovery and is hopeful that he could return at the start of the next campaign.
"We still have some time to be able to assess where I'm at," Pitta told The Baltimore Sun.
"I sure hope that I'll be on the field next year. That's my hope; that's my goal. We'll just see if we can get there."
Pitta has recorded 138 receptions for 1,369 yards and 11 touchdowns in his five seasons in the NFL.
