The Baltimore Ravens have agreed a contract with Elvis Dumervil, subject to the safety passing a physical.
The 29-year-old's deal with the Super Bowl champions is for five years, and is worth up to $35m (£23m).
Dumervil tweeted: "Can't say enough about the Broncos fans, my great teammates, equipment staff, training staff, media staff, Mr Bowlen, Coach Fox, John Elway and the city of Denver.
"Its been an unforgettable 7 years. I am looking forward to this next chapter of my career."
Dumervil became a free agent after being cut by the Denver Broncos earlier this month, following a fax blunder by his agent, who he has since fired.
He is expected to undergo the physical with the Ravens tomorrow.
