The Carolina Panthers have confirmed that they have signed defensive back Kurt Coleman on a two-year contract.
The 26-year-old spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs and was a regular starter for the AFC West outfit, but was allowed to leave at the end of the campaign.
Ron Rivera's men moved to sign Coleman to bolster their secondary ahead of the 2015 campaign following his impressive displays for the Chiefs last year.
"Kurt gives us a versatile safety who can play both spots," Rivera told the club's official website. "He's athletic, he's intelligent and will understand the system, having worked with Sean [McDermott] before.
"He's a very consistent player and also adds special teams ability. That is something we've talked about improving upon, and we've made some moves this off-season looking for guys that can help us on special teams."
Coleman recorded 37 tackles, three interceptions and one forced fumble for the Chiefs last season.
