Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman has revealed that quarterback Jay Cutler and linebacker Lance Briggs will not feature in Tuesday morning's clash against the Dallas Cowboys.
Trestman said that Cutler was progressing well in practice and was not too far away from a return to action, but the next game will come too quickly for him.
"From the work today, it just looks like he's progressing," Trestman told the club's official website. "I haven't talked to him specifically about it.
"He seemed to work through the practice very well. He did the things that the trainers have asked him to do, but didn't overdo it. He's worked very hard to get to this point."
Cutler has missed the Bears' last three games through his ankle injury.
