Chicago Bears crush Pittsburgh Steelers to remain unbeaten

The Chicago Bears move to 3-0 in their NFL season with a commanding 40-23 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field.

The Chicago Bears put in a dominant performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers to move to 3-0 in their season following their NFL clash at Heinz Field.

Marc Trestman's side opened the scoring early with a field goal from the boot of Robbie Gould from 47 yards.

When the Steelers tried to respond, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger fumbled the ball following a sack from DJ Williams and it was recovered by the visitors.

The Chicago offense took full advantage as Matt Forte ran the ball in from 22 yards for the first touchdown of the game. This was soon followed by another running score, this time from Michael Bush from one-yard out on a key fourth down play.

Pittsburgh got on board through Shaun Suisham with a 27-yard field goal, however, the Bears extended their lead when a pass from Roethlisberger was intercepted by Major Wright and was taken 38 yards the other way for a touchdown.

Roethlisberger redeemed himself on the next drive when he found wide receiver Antonio Brown on a 33-yard strike to pull the Steelers within 14 points of the visitors at half time.

After the break, Gould and Suisham both kick field goals before Roethlisberget hit Brown again for 21 yards in the endzone to bring his side back into the game for their second scores each of the night.

Suisham brought the Steelers within four points with a 44-yarder but Bears quarterback Jay Cutler put his team in command with time running out with superb throw to Earl Bennett, who made a great catch in the endzone for a 17-yard score.

Chicago secured the victory when linebacker Lance Briggs knocked the ball out of Roethlisberger's hand and Julius Peppers ran the ball back for the touchdown to make the final score 40-23 to the Bears, who remain unbeaten.
