Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine has insisted that he will not overreact to Brian Hoyer's performance against the Buffalo Bills that saw him replaced by Johnny Manziel.
The Browns struggled on offense for all of the game, as Hoyer threw two interceptions which held his side to three points until the fourth quarter.
Hoyer was replaced by Manziel, who got his side on the scoreboard when he rushed for a touchdown, but it was too little too late for the Browns as they slipped to a 26-10 defeat.
However, Pettine is adamant that he won't rush a decision to see whether he will replace Hoyer with Manziel on a permanent basis.
He told reporters: "We'll watch the tape. It's all about competition. It's who gives us the best chance to win. We're not going to overreact. We'll look at the tape and make a decision. Not going to put it all on Brian."
The Browns are 7-5 in their season following their defeat to the Bills.
