Denver Broncos wide receiver Isaiah Burse has admitted that he is using Wes Welker as his inspiration to try to forge a career in the NFL.
Burse joined the club as an undrafted free agent and will face an uphill battle to force his way onto his side's 53-man roster, but feels that he can follow Welker's example to succeed in the league.
"I feel like even in college, I did a lot of stuff he did," Burse told the club's official website. "I was in the slot, I returned, and the fact that I became and undrafted free agent, that just all goes together.
"It's funny how he was an undrafted free agent, too, and he became so successful. Just seeing him is kind of like a dream."
Welker was an undrafted free agent in 2004 but has recorded 841 receptions for 9,358 yards and 48 touchdowns in his 10 seasons in the league.
