Denver Broncos head coach John Fox has defended wide receiver Wes Welker amid criticism from New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.
The Patriots head coach slammed the 32-year-old for his hit on cornerback Aqib Talib which knocked him out of the AFC championship, as the Broncos advanced to the Super Bowl with a 26-16 win.
"I haven't even seen the tape and I haven't seen his comment, so I don't feel that I can comment on that, other than that I know that Wes Welker is a great player, high integrity," Fox told the Denver Post.
"I can say that we were not doing anything with intent. That's the only comment I have."
Welker was with the Patriots for six seasons before joining the Broncos in 2013.
