The Detroit Lions are expected to give Jim Bob Cooter his first coaching role in the NFL by handing the former college player the position of quarterbacks coach.
Cooter began playing football as a backup quarterback at the University of Tennessee, where he went on to gain a graduate assistant coaching position for the 2007-2008 season.
The developing coach then gained valuable experience as an assistant at a host of NFL teams, including the Indianapolis Colts, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos.
Cooter will potentially work alongside Lions lead coaches Jim Caldwell and Joe Lombardi in preparation for the coming season.
