JJ Watt has said that he is "not worried" about missing pre-season snaps with the Houston Texans.
The 2012 defensive player of the year saw his first action of the 2013 pre-season during the team's 24-17 win over the Miami Dolphins, playing just two snaps.
The 24-year-old defensive end told reporters: "I played two snaps. It was good. Obviously, you want to play every play. I want to be in right now. It's smart to get ready for the season. You just want to be ready for September 9.
"I missed the whole pre-season last year, so I'm not worried about missing a couple snaps here and there. Obviously I want to play a lot, but the most important thing is September 9. Just making sure that we come out of everything healthy for September 9 that's all that matters.
"It felt good. It was a brief outing for me, only had two plays but it feels good. It feels great to get in front of these fans. It's crazy how they're supportive. A packed house, so loud for the pre-season, gotta love it."
Watt led the lead in sacks with 20.5 last season.
