Chuck Pagano has said that Andrew Luck is "way ahead" of where he was at this time last year.
The number one pick from the 2012 draft is preparing for his second season in the NFL, completing 164 passing yards and two touchdown passes during the Indianapolis Colts' win over the Cleveland Browns last night.
The head coach told the team's website: "He seems so comfortable out there. He's got great command of that huddle, great command of the offense. He's running way too much, I know that.
"We have to do a better job of keeping him clean, but that's another dimension people have to contend with. He has the ability to extend plays and create. I think he's way ahead [of last year].
"We popped some big runs, which was something we were looking to do. It's going to be a work in progress, but we're going to get better each week. I feel good about the direction it's going right now."
The Colts play their final pre-season game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday.
