New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees has revealed that he is determined to play in his side's week three clash against the Carolina Panthers.
A report suggested that the 36-year-old would miss several games due to a shoulder injury sustained in the Saints' defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Although Brees has admitted that he has an injury, he is adamant that he wants to play through the pain barrier to feature in the NFC South showdown.
He told reporters: "I have every intention of playing, but I do have to take it day to day. I have to be smart with this, so that's what I'm doing."
When asked if he would be playing at Bank of America Stadium, Brees answered: "[I'm] pretty confident."
Brees has thrown for 610 yards and two touchdowns to two interceptions this season.
