New York Jets hire new special teams coordinator

The New York Jets hire LSU Tigers special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey to the same post with the AFC East side.

The New York Jets have announced that Thomas McGaughey is to be their new special teams coordinator.

Ben Kotwica left the AFC East side at the end of the 2013 campaign to join the Washington Redskins, leaving the position vacant.

McGaughey joins the side after three seasons with the LSU Tigers, having helped the college side reach the BCS national title game in 2011.

The former Philadelphia Eagles defensive back had a four-season spell as an assistant coach with the New York Giants before joining LSU.
