New York Jets safety Ed Reed has called on the team's home crowd to become their extra man as they bid to make the playoffs.
Reed's new team have a vital divisional game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, and a win would go a long way to securing their post-season spot as the AFC wildcard side.
The Jets man told the club's official website: "It will be good to play in front of our home crowd. We need that energy, need the 12th man to get this team moving in the right direction and to be where we want to be.
"We have to execute our game plan to be successful and I don't think we've been doing that lately. When we get the chance to make plays we have to do that."
The Jets and the Dolphins have identical 5-6 records in the AFC East at present.
