Ryan Fitzpatrick throws four touchdowns in crushing New York Jets victory

The New York Jets end a run of back-to-back defeats in the NFL by claiming a crushing 38-20 win over their rivals the Miami Dolphins at the MetLife Stadium.

The New York Jets secured a emphatic 38-20 victory over their AFC East rivals the Miami Dolphins as quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw four touchdown passes at the MetLife Stadium this evening.

The Dolphins spurned a chance to take the lead in the first quarter when quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw an interception in the redzone into the hands of Jets cornerback Marcus Williams.

Todd Bowles's men punished the visitors as Fitzpatrick launched the ball deep into the endzone for Brandon Marshall to record a 15-yard score to hand his side the lead.

The Jets extended their advantage just before half time when Fitzpatrick notched his second touchdown of the match by drilling the ball into the hands of rookie wideout Devin Smith in the endzone.

New York compounded their lead in the early stages of the third quarter as Fitzpatrick continued his fine display by finding Eric Decker for a two-yard touchdown.

The visitors ended their shutout when Tannehill managed to find Jarvis Landry on an out route, and the wideout dived over the goalline to record the five-yard score.

Fitzpatrick found the endzone for the fourth time in the match by using Marshall's size to loft the ball to the veteran for a simple catch over Brent Grimes.

The Jets poured on the misery for Dan Campbell's team as Chris Ivory brushed off three tackles to power into the endzone from 31 yards.

Greg Jennings notched the first of two consolation scores for the Dolphins when he raided to the back of the endzone to collect Tannehill's pass on a slant route.

The Jets added another three points to their tally from the boot of Randy Bullock as the kicker put his effort from 41 yards through the posts.

Dolphins rookie wideout DeVante Parker recorded his first touchdown in the NFL when he beat a tackle down the sideline before leaping into the endzone from 33 yards, but the match belonged to the home side.

The win for the Jets lifts them to 6-5 in their season, while the Dolphins drop to 4-7.
