San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers has conceded that the team must regroup after their 35-21 loss to the Denver Broncos on Thursday night.
The Chargers have reached the halfway point of the season with a 5-3 record and they trail their divisional rivals at the top of the AFC West.
"This is a 16-game season, it's a 16-round fight and we've won five and lost three," Rivers told the media.
"It's one big game is the way I see it. We've had a couple rounds where we've got knocked around a little bit. We have to regroup and try to go get round number nine at Miami."
Rivers added that he hoped the team would be able to recover some of its injured stars in the coming weeks with just one game between now and November 15.
