Kendall Hunter has said that he is keen to play in his first game since November when the San Francisco 49ers meet the Minnesota Vikings in pre-season this weekend.
The running back, who came off the team's physically unable to perform list earlier this month, has been cleared for contact following his recovery from an Achilles tear.
The 24-year-old told the team's website: "I'm ready to roll whenever they let me go. It's up to the coaches. I'm ready for any situation.
"I'm working hard, getting back to the reads and seeing everything again. Football is football. You've just got to go. I feel like I'm getting back to myself, better."
Head coach Jim Harbaugh added: "He's been back in action at practice and when you dive back into the action, your instincts, your senses come back. He appears to have that. I'm looking forward to and excited about him getting back on the field as well."
The 49ers face the Vikings on Sunday night.
