Josh McCown approves of Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiving corps

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown says that he is in his comfort zone throwing to tall receivers such as Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh McCown has given the thumbs-up regarding the team's wide receivers.

Last season, McCown was part of a Chicago Bears offense which boasted tall wideouts on each side, and he is happy that he will be part of a similar system next term.

After running through his first practice session with rookie Mike Evans on one side and veteran receiver Vincent Jackson on the other, McCown spoke favourably of his new teammates.

McCown told the Tampa Tribune: "I'd be lying if I didn't say there was a comfort zone in that. It's very similar to what I worked with in Chicago, at least on paper.

"There's still a lot of work to do and we have to get out there and Evans has to learn the offense and we have to start building together, but it was a good start."

McCown completed 66.5% of his passes last season, throwing for 1,829 yards and 13 touchdowns with only one interception as he stood in for the injured Jay Cutler.

He joined the Buccaneers at the beginning of the off-season in the hope of becoming the team's starter.
