Tennessee Titans earn away win against Pittsburgh Steelers

Three field goals from Rob Bironas and a touchdown from Jackie Battle are enough to earn the Tennessse Titans a 16-9 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Tennessee Titans have defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in their NFL clash.

Pittsburgh got on the scoresheet straight away when Shaun Suisham kicked off to Darius Reynaud, who collected the ball outside his endzone and then took a knee in the scoring area, which resulted in a two-point safety.

Both teams struggled on offense as the two defenses made good plays. The Titans defensive back Alterraun Verner intercepted a pass from Ben Roethlisberger, while Zach Brown also came up with a sack.

On the other side, LaMarr Woodley dropped Jack Locker for a huge loss to stunt their drive.

However, just before the break the Titans finally got something going on offense as Locker drove them down the field and running back Jackie Battle went over from three yards out, with Rob Bironas kicking the extra point to give them a 7-2 lead at the break.

Bironas extended his side's advantage after the break when he nailed a 26-yard field goal after a good drive from Locker ended with the Steelers defense holding firm near the goalline. In the fourth quarter he added two more sets of three points to make the score 16-2.

Roethlisberger finally got the Steelers an offensive score late in the game when he found Jericho Cotchery in the endzone for a four-yard touchdown, but it was too little too late for the home side.
