Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that his side "should get mad and disappointed" after their performance and result against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils claimed a point in a 2-2 draw at Anfield, with Amad Diallo netting in the 80th minute after Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah had scored to put the home side 2-1 ahead.
Man United showed spirit and desire throughout the Premier League contest, and their captain Bruno Fernandes questioned shortly after the final whistle why the players were unable to produce that level of performance on a more regular basis.
Amorim shares the view of his captain, claiming that the players should be "mad and disappointed" with how well they performed against the best side in England's top flight.

Amorim backs up Fernandes comments after Liverpool draw
"I think I get more mad because of the other games. It's even harder to understand some things. This is not about the system, the technique, it's about something else," Amorim told Sky Sports News.
"We should get mad and disappointed. More than the other day against Newcastle [United], Bournemouth, Nottingham [Forest]. Today, we need to be really disappointed."
In a separate interview with BBC Sport, Amorim added: "That should be a big issue for our players that even one person thinks you have the ability but not the character, we have to fight that and change that.
"I think it is really clear. When we are focused, when we fight for every ball, when we suffer and we are tired when the game is finished, we are a good team. If we don't do that all the time then we are going to lose games. That is clear to everybody.
"We controlled very well the tempo of the game. Every time Liverpool had a chance, we controlled and had the ball for a moment. That makes a difference.
"You could see in the game, it was not like we are not suffering all the time because we controlled the ball, sometimes winning some fouls, controlling the transitions. It was a good game.
"That is clear (maintaining this level of performance). Everybody thinks the same thing. We have to start someday to be consistent. Not in the way we play but in how we face the competition - so let's start today."

Amorim hails Maguire for display at Anfield
Harry Maguire missed a golden chance to win it for Man United late on, but Amorim was full of praise for the England international, who has had a 12-month extension in his contract activated to take him to the summer of 2026.
"For me, missing chances or playing badly with the ball is not the big issue. For me, the big issue is that Harry gave everything on the pitch. That is the most important thing," said Amorim.
Maguire was again chosen in the middle of the back three, with Matthijs de Ligt playing to the right, while Leny Yoro was introduced for the closing stages of the match, and the Frenchman came up with a wonderful last-ditch challenge on Darwin Nunez during a fast Liverpool break.
Man United have moved up one spot in the Premier League table to 13th, and they will be back in action next weekend against Arsenal in the third round of the FA Cup.
